The e20X seems to be a little better made than the Electrode 16 it is replacing. I don’t know if it’s the battery type, but this thing takes forever to charge. Manual says 2-4 but it’s more like 5-6. It does seem to stay charge for a few days of riding for my son. The terrain is not all flat either. Also these things will scoot!!! The battery is pretty much toast once the life indicator hits 3 for about 15 minutes. He can barely get it to the garage at that point. We happy with the 16 & 20 just wish you could use the bike more after the battery hits the half way point. It is pretty much done by then.
These are sturdy little bikes and seem to work well for the month we have had them. One thing I did notice is that there are 5 bars of battery life, once you hit 3 you pretty much need to charge it. It’s seems like both the e16x & e20x batteries are toast at that point.
My 3 year old loves it. It takes off nice and smooth so it doesn’t intimidate him. He is already ripping around the house and learning balance
This setup has created such a confidence booster for my little one! This is a must buy!

We chose the Pur-speed because of the let down of motors on her Stacyc and the Orion was out of stock. It is a solid bike that can take a track very well. Its not as fast as other 48v without mods but a solid bike none the less. She still wins but has to come from mid pack off the start. Only have about 20 hours on the bike so I can't report on durability at this time. My daughter loves that it is so quiet. I like the no chain and the slick front forks. Will be purchasing an Orion in the future so we can get back out front on the gate drops.
We just got our son the extreme 16” 48 v. Has incredible torque compared to his upgrade zero 2 flea 40v, but lacks in top speed. Is zero 2 goes approx 25 mph. Is there anything to we can do to get top speed up?

Hi Mike, Thank you so much for the review. As discussed, and for anyone else, between the pegs lives the controller for the bike. If you expose the controller then find and cut the solid white wire that loops out and back into the controller with no connectors, that will then unlock 100% power mode on the bike. You will still have the ability to toggle the 3 speed settings so we recommend going back down to speed setting one and working your way up.

This bike is a great replacement for anyone tired of dead batteries, overheated motors and controllers, and noisy motors and gear trains. Great value for the price, highly recommend starting hear and skipping the Stacyc.
